Ice Bars, Colin Powell & the Prepaid Expo

Another year, another Prepaid Expo under our belts. The 2011 show was a great success, and the team at Arroweye had a great time. While it’s always a whirlwind, we enjoyed spending a few days with the best of the best in the prepaid industry. We thought we’d share with you some of the highlights from our perspective.

“If you’d told me that I’d go from Chicago to Orlando to spend an hour in a 25 degree room, where ironically, I had my best meetings, I’d probably say that was crazy. But, courtesy of the Ice Bar at one of the evening events, that’s exactly what happened. I also enjoyed hearing Colin Powell give the keynote address. He said something about leadership that really struck me. While describing his experiences in battle, he said that you know you’re a leader when people will follow you because they want to see what you’ll do next – and they do that because they trust you. Interesting insight that really rings true.”

“I’m the newest to the Arroweye team, joining the company from FIS, and was happy to spend my second week on the job in Orlando for the Prepaid Expo. I spent a lot of time at the Arroweye booth, and it was great to reconnect with many industry colleagues. I was impressed with the level of familiarity so many folks had with Arroweye and the perks of a digital on-demand system. I also had the honor of awarding the iPad, and definitely surprised the winner when I called him during a meeting on the last day of the show! Winning an iPad is always a welcome interruption, right?”

“The Prepaid Expo was a great experience. Perhaps the highlight for me was seeing our friends at NovoPayment win another Paybefore award. They were acknowledged in the category for Best Corporate-Funded Prepaid Incentive, Reward, Rebate or Loyalty Program and CEO Anabel Perez also received a Paybefore Industry Achievement Award. They’ve done an impressive job growing their business in Latin America, and it’s always good to see great work recognized.”

“I’ve been attending the Prepaid Expo for about four years now, and I’m always impressed with the energy and passion within this industry. Attendees truly engage with the companies on the exhibit floor, which isn’t always the case at other trade shows. This really is an industry that welcomes innovation. I think that people are genuinely interested in how to make business better, and want to be informed about new technologies and products available that will help.”
